Story of the game: Cibona will host Mega Soccerbet in Dražen Petrović Hall, Zagreb on Sunday evening.
The two sides are approaching this game in quite a different mood. Cibona have suffered two heavy defeats at the start of the new season and they now want to show a proper reaction to those previous results. It must be mentioned that Cibona suffered those two defeats in the games against Crvena zvezda mts and Mornar, who both have perfect score in the league and who are both considered as one of the favorites for winning the championship.
But, guess who else have a perfect score after two rounds in the regular season? It is no other but Cibona’s upcoming rival – Mega Soccerbet!
The Belgrade side is having a dream start of the 2020/21 season as they firstly scored a convincing win against Igokea on the road, while then they prevailed over Zadar at home. Mega Soccerbet are therefore traveling to Zagreb in high spirits and they will do everything they can to extend their winning streak on Sunday evening.
Match-up in focus: Last weekend, Cibona’s center Filip Bundović had the highest index rating out of all ABA League players. He scored 22 points and had 9 rebounds in the match against Mornar, while his overall index rating in that match was 31. And now Bundović will face Mega’s supertalent Marko Simonović, who was the MVP of Round 1 in the 2020/21 ABA Leaguen regular season. Both of them are playing at center’s position, which means that they will have a direct duel down on the court.
