The World of Stats: Marko Luković joins his brother Uroš in ABA League 1,000+ points club

Suad Šehović (Budućnost VOLI) played his 249th game in the ABA League last weekend and has therefore tied with Vuk Radivojević at the 11th place on the ABA League All-Time Games Played list. 

Last week, Uroš Luković (Mornar) joined the 1000+ points club, while this wekend his brother Marko Luković (Split) did the same thing as he scored 12 points in the match against Cedevita Olimpija and now has 1010 points in his ABA career stats. Also, Marko Luković scored his 100th three-pointer in the same match.

Sava Lešić (FMP) scored two free throws in the last-round match against Partizan NIS, so he now has a total number of 432 made free throws in his ABA League career stats. Lešić has therefore moved up to the 17th place on the ABA League All-Time Free Throws Made list as he went past Jure Močnik (431), while ne needs just two more free throws to reach Jakov Vladović (434) on the 16th place. Also, Sava Lešič moved up to the 16th place on the ABA League All-Time Rebounds list, as he now has 781 rebounds in his career stats, one more than Dragiša Drobnjak (780).

Earlier in this text we have mentioned that Suad Šehović (Budućnost VOLI) played his 249th game in ABA League, while now we will add that he made 7 defensive rebounds in the match vs. Borac and has therefore moved up to the 5th place on the ABA League All-Time Defensive Rebounds list. Šehović now has a total number of 797 defensive rebounds in his ABA League career stats and he surpassed Miro Bilan (792) on this list.  

In the same match, Suad’s teammate Nikola Ivanović (Budućnost VOLI) scored 3 three-pointers and has therefore reached the 200+ three-pointers milestone.

The Sunday's derby match between Crvena zvezda mts and Mornar was the 309th game that Branko Lazić (Crvena zvezda mts) played in ABA League. Lazić has therefore moved up to the 3rd position on the ABA League All-Time Games Played list, surpassing Nebojša Jokismović (308) along the way, while at this moment only Marin Rozić (377 games) and Čedomir Vitkovac (335) are in front of him on this list.

In the same match, Marko Simonović (Crvena zvezda mts) became only the 18th player in league history to score 2000+ points. Simonović currently has 2,004 points in his ABA career stats and he needs 34 more points to tie his score with Bojan Krstović who is holding the 17th place on the ABA League All-Time Scorers list. Also, Simonović made 7 defensive rebounds in this match and has therefore moved up to the 23rd place on the ABA League All-Time Defensive Rebounds list. Simonović now has a total number of 521 defensive rebounds and he surpassed Luka Žorić (517).

The last game of Round 3 was marked by Rok Stipčević (Krka) who found himself playing against his former team Zadar on the road for the first time in his career. Apart from scoring the game-winning two-pointer late in the 4th quarter, Stipčević made 5 three-pointers and has therefore moved up to the 21st place on the ABA League All-Time 3-pointers Made list, surpassing Davor Kus (216). Stipčević now has a total number of 217 three-pointers in his ABA League career stats and he needs 2 more to reach Sašo Ožbolt (219) at the 20th place.
