Story of the game: Partizan NIS will host Zadar on Saturday evening in Round 6 of the 2020/21 ABA League regular season.
Both sides will try to bounce back from last-round defeats. Partizan NIS suffered a painful road defeat against Igokea in overtime, while Zadar lost the local derby against Split at home court.
Neither team can say that it is having a great start of the season, Partizan NIS have already suffered three defeats since the start of the 2020/21 ABA championship and they are currently holding the 7th place on the standings. That is why the black & whites have decided to part ways with coach Vlado Šćepanović and to hire Sašo Filipovski as new first team head coach. Filipovski will lead the team in the upcoming match against Zadar.
On the other side Zadar have lost 4 out of their 5 games and they are placed at the 11th spot. What is even more concerning for Zadar ahead of their trip to Belgrade is their head-to-head score against Partizan NIS. Zadar have won just 2 games against Partizan NIS in Belgrade in the history of the regional league, while they suffered 15 defeats.
Match-up in focus: Nemanja Gordić (Partizan NIS) vs. Dominik Mavra (Zadar). Gordić is the 2nd best scorer of Partizan NIS in this season, while he was the team’s best player last weekend in the match against Igokea. At the same time, Mavra is by far the top scorer of Zadar in the ongoing ABA League campaign and he is a true leader of this team.
Head to head in the regional league: In total 21:11; In Belgrade 15:2.
