ABA League Round 6, Sunday, 8 November 2020:
Where? BC Split Hall, Split
When? 21:00
Story of the game: In this week’s match of the round we have a clash of two former European champions – Split vs. Cibona!
These two big rivals are about to face each other in ABA League for the first time since 2013. And so far, Cibona have been much more successful than Split in their head-to-head duels. Just take a look at this – Cibona have won 14 out of 16 games against Split in ABA League! Also, it is worth mentioning that the Zagreb side has won 7 out of 8 away games in Split.
Still, just by looking at the ongoing season, the two big rivals are all tied as both of them have the overall score of 2-3 at this moment. Last weekend, three-time European champions Split grabbed a big road win against Zadar, while two-time European champions Cibona scored a very convincing win against Koper Primorska at home court.
Everything suggest that we will have a very interesting game on Sunday evening, so be sure not to miss this week’s ABA league match of the round.
Match-up in focus: Blaž Mesiček (Split) has been one of the best players of Split since joining the team last month. He is currently the 4th best scorer of the Yellow crew, while he will now have a direct duel with Cibona’s top scorer Mateo Drežnjak. These two players are still young as Mesiček is 23 years old, while Drežnjak is two years younger and many basketball experts predict both of them a very bright future.
Head to head in the regional league: In total 2:14; In Split 1:7.
