The graph above places each team logo based on how far above or below the ABA League average they are in offensive and defensive points per possession. It gives an overview of which teams have stood out the most one-quarter of the way through the year. With some teams continuing to make roster moves and reshuffling their schedules, this is a very preliminary look at who has played well to this point.

Crvena zvezda mts has been the most balanced team this season, separating themselves from the rest of the ABA League with their combination of explosive offense and active perimeter defense. Though they sit at 8-0, they have played only one game against one of the other three teams that have separated themselves from the field in the graph above. The tests they face over the next few weeks should reveal a lot about where they stand among that group.

- The race for second in terms of efficiency differential is extremely tight right now as Cedevita Olimpija are Mornar are separated by just 0.01 points per possession. Both teams have found considerable success on the offensive end, but will have to establish their defenses against the other top teams to ensure that is reflected in the standings.

- Budućnost VOLI is an interesting case as they are undefeated, but have only played 5 games to this point. They will face their biggest test of the season in Round 9 as they travel to Belgrade to take on Zvezda.

- Among the second group of teams, Partizan NIS and Mega Soccerbet have the strongest position in the standings with Igokea in the mix as well. If history is any indicator, these teams will need to make a mid-season run if they are going to get in the mix for a postseason berth, but with more games left to be played than usual, they still have some wiggle room ahead of 2021.
