Jaka Blažič has proven, throughout the month of November, his dominance at the ABA League courts wherever he has appeared and besides the fact that he finished the month amongst the statistically most efficient player, he deserved himself the award with his contribution to the team's success – Cedevita Olimpija have won both of their two games in November, which keeps them firmly in the Playoffs race at the moment.

The excellent swingman in the ranks of the Ljubljana squad averaged 22.5 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and a valuation of 29 during the games of Cedevita, which puts him on the second place in the rankings in valuation of the month of November, besides only Filip Petrušev (36) of Mega Soccerbet. However, the fact that Blažič has appeared in both games of the Dragons that month and that Petrušev appeared only in one of three of Mega Soccerbet means that he has contributed more to his team’s success this month and that’s what gave Blažič the MVP title.

Cedevita Olimpija have had a great season so far, especially November. Blažič is satisfied with the fact that his team has been achieving lots of victories: “The most important thing is that we are winning. Triumphs are the only thing that matter in sports. Currently, we are in great position in the ABA League. However, I believe that there is still plenty of potential left for improvement and that we will be playing even better in the remainder of the season.”

It's been obvious that the best performances of the Ljubljana squad have come in the period when Jaka has been on fire and has been steering his team towards valuable triumphs. However, the captain remains humble, when we change the subject to his performances: “I am only one piece of the puzzle of our team. I am fulfilling the tasks that head coach and the rest of the squad are placing upon me. I am simply happy that with my good performances I am able to help the team to be succesful.”

How about competition? ABA League is considered to be tough this season especially and Blažič believes that the evidence also comes from great results that not only Cedevita Olimpija, but also other teams of the regional competition have been achieving on European stages this season: “There are currently six ABA League teams participating in the European competitions and all of them are currently still in the battle for advancing into the next stages of the competitions that they are participating in. This is demonstrating the strength of the ABA League right now. In general, the region is known for having excellent basketball teams, that have been competing for the European top. This trend is continuing right now. The league itself will definitely be exciting all until the end this season, as the competition is tough and so will be the battle for the top four spots in the standings when regular season ends.”

At the same time, he points out that it’s still early to predict the outcome of the season and speak about the goals, especially due to the uncertain situation, amid the Covid-19 pandemic: “We are an ambitious club, so our goals are high as well. However in this situation, when the coronavirus is on a rampage we are trying our best in order to focus on present and are taking everything step by step, while hoping for the best possible score at the end of the season. We are on the right track right now in my opinion.”
