Split announced that they have signed a contract with 26-year-old player Marin Marić.

Marić has therefore returned to his hometown club where he made his first basketball steps. This 211 cm tall center has played for all youth selections of Split, while in 2012 he made his professional debut with this team at the age of 18. It is interesting to mention that Marić played just 15 seconds in that match, while soon after that he went to the USA to attend La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana.

After that, Marin Marić spent four years at the Northern Illinois University (2013-2017) and one year at the DePaul University (2017-2018).

He went back to Europe in 2018 and had a short stint with Turkish side Büyükçekmece, but he quickly left this team and joined Belgian side Oostende for the 2018/19 season. After winning the 2018/19 Belgian championship with Oostende, he moved to another Belgian team Okapi Aalst for which he played in the 2019/20 season.

In June 2020, Marić signed a contract with Lithuanian side BC Lietkabelis and he averaged 9.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in the 2020/21 EuroCup regular season.

Now, he has returned to Split to wear the famous yellow-and-black jersey once again.
