EC: Budućnost VOLI suffer defeat against Boulogne Metropolitans 92

Budućnost VOLI were defeated by Boulogne Metropolitans 92 in delayed game of 2020/21 EuroCup regular season Round 7.

This defeat won’t hurt the blue-and-whites a lot as they had already secured their place in the TOP 16 stage. Still, it is worth mentioning that Budućnost VOLI were less than a second away from having a huge chance to win this match.

The visitors were up by 73:71, while the Podgorica side had a bit over 3 seconds to try winning the game or take it to overtime. Justin Cobbs received the ball, he ran all the way to the other side of the court and pulled up for a 3-pointer… And the referee called a foul on Budućnost VOLI point guard!

However, after reviewing the play, the referees determined that the foul occurred after the time was up, so instead of 3 free throws for Budućnost VOLI the game was over and the score remained 73:71 for the French team.
