The World of Stats: Fantastic 3-point shooting performances of Crvena zvezda mts and Cedevita Olimpija

Crvena zvezda mts scored 20 three-pointers in the match against FMP last weekend and that is the 2nd best score ever recorded in ABA League. Only Cedevita managed to score more three-pointers in a single game (23) in the match against Zagreb on February 6, 2010. Crvena zvezda mts squad made those 20 three-pointers out of 29 attempts (69%), which is the best FG3 percentage ever recorded in the regional league, counting only the games in which that team had 25+ attempts for 3 points.

Cedevita Olimpija also had an outstanding shooting night last weekend as they scored 18 three-pointers in the match against Cibona. They have therefore tied the 6th best score in 3-pointers made in a single game.

Marko Simonović (Crvena zvezda mts) scored 19 points in the match against FMP and has therefore reached a total number of 2,046 points in his ABA League career. Simonović have moved up to the 16th place on the ABA League All-Time Top Scorers list as he surpassed Bojan Krstović (2,038) and Davor Kus (2,042).

Novica Veličković (Partizan NIS) made 3 offensive rebounds in the last-round match against Mega Soccerbet and he now has a total number of 269 offensive rebounds in his ABA career. Veličković has therefore tied with Aliaksei Lashkevich at the 18th place on the ABA League All-Time Offensive Rebounds list.

In the same match, Nemanja Gordić (Partizan NIS) made 1 steal and he is now tied with Sašo Ožbolt at the 11th place on the ABA League All-Time Steals list. Both players have made 249 steals in the regional league.

Nikola Ivanović (Budućnost VOLI) made 5 assists in the match against Mornar and has therefore moved up to the 9th place on the ABA League All-Time Assists list. Ivanović now has a total number of 539 assists in his ABA career, while he needs 6 more assists to reach Omar Cook (545), who is holding the 8th place on this list.

Sava Lešić became only the 15th player in ABA League history to made 800+ rebounds. Lešić currently has a total number of 801 rebounds in his ABA career, while he needs 34 more rebounds to reach Martin Bader (835) who is holding the 14th place on this list.

Speaking about rebounds, we should also mention Uroš Luković (Mornar) who became only the 10th player in ABA League history to make 300+ offensive rebounds.

Corey Walden has increased his perfect free-throws streak as he is now at 35/35 from the free-throw line in this season.

Special mention:

On December 9, 2019, Žan Mark Šiško (Koper Primorska) set the all-time ABA League record in most assists made by one player in a single game. In Round 10 of the 2019/20 ABA League regular season, Šiško made 19 assists in the match between Koper Primorska and Zadar, and has therefore broken the previous record held by Marko Marinović (18 assists).
