EL: Zvezda were defeated by Zenit St Petersburg

Crvena zvezda mts suffered a pretty heavy defeat against Zenit St Petersburg on the road in Round 16 of the 2020/21 EuroLeague regular season.

The red-and-whites, who played this game without their top scorer Jordan Loyd, had lot of problems already at the start of the match as they were trailing by 18 points after the 1^st quarter – 30:12, while in the middle of the 2^nd quarter Zvezda were down by 24 points – 43:19.

The second part of the 2^nd quarter and the opening minutes of the 3^rd quarter were the best part of this game for Crvena zvezda mts as they managed to reduce the gap to just 8 points in that period – 48:40. However, that is the moment when a former player of Crvena zvezda and current star player of Zenit St Petersburg KC Rivers started his tonight's 3-point show. KC Rivers made three 3-pointers in less than 2 minutes to put the Russian side back on a safe distance – 59:42. Rivers did not stop there and he finished the match with 7/8 for 3-points.

Crvena zvezda mts now have the overall score of 5-11 in the 2020/21 EuroLeague regular season.
