ABA League Round 9, Sunday, 10 January 2021:

ZADAR – CEDEVITA OLIMPIJA

Where? Krešimir Ćosić Arena, Zadar

When? 17:00

Story of the game: One question is open ahead of the Sunday’s ABA League clash in Zadar between the home side and the Dragons. Can the Dalmatians stop red hot Cedevita Olimpija again, as the two sides will battle in Višnjik in the delayed game of the Round 9.

The green and orange squad of Ljubljana are having a good season so far, as they are still in the Playoffs race, having won 7 out of 10 games played so far in the ABA League.

On the other side, Zadar have also appeared in nine ABA League games so far this season, winning only two of them.

Expectations of the basketball community ahead of the game are therefore clear, however, Zadar have many times demonstrated that they are capable of big upsets, when playing in front of the home stands. And the memory of the last season’s clash in Višnjik, when the two sides met and Zadar have prevailed by no less than 38 points of margin is still fresh and an evidence that the Dragons can’t be too relaxed ahead of the clash.

Can the blue and white upset the visiting side again or will Cedevita Olimpija grab their first win in Višnjik? Let’s watch the game and find out.

Match-up in focus: Dominik Mavra vs. Jaka Blažič! The two guards are currently definitely the first names of their respective squads. While Mavra is the top scorer of Zadar, averaging 13.7 points per game, Jaka does it on the other side, as he is averaging 17.3 points per game for the Dragons. Which one of them will prevail in this clash and give a major contribution to his team’s win?

Head to head in the regional league: in total 1:1; In Zadar 1:0.
