National Cups: Split and Zadar in the Croatian final

Split and Zadar will be battling to reach the Croatian National Cup trophy in Saturday’s final game in Omiš, after the two squads have edged out Furnir and Cibona, respectively, in the semi-finals.

In the first Semi-final game of the day, Split have prevailed over Furnir at home in their Split Sports Hall with the final score of 95:83, after they have been in front throughout the game. They have led by 10 points after the first break, by 17 after the second and 21 after the third. In the final quarter, Furnir only made their defeat look decent. For Split., Luka Babić has been the most efficient with 16 points on his record, while Pavle Marčinković added 15.

In the second clash of the day, Zadar have been too strong for Cibona at home in Krešimir Ćosić Sports Hall and the second and third quarters have been crucial for their success, as they have gone up by 13 points combined in the two quarters. Cibona fought back in the final quarter and made it an exciting game in its very finish, but they did not manage to turn the flow of the game upside-down. The final score has been 84:82 in Zadar favour. For Zadar Justin Carter and Aleksandar Bursać have scored 16 points each and for Cibona Scottie Reynolds & Darko Planinić have written down 14 points each.
