Split announced that they have appointed Mile Karakaš as their new head coach.

Karakaš was the head coach of Split junior team for five years, while he was also part of U16 Croatian national team which won the gold medal at the U16 FIBA EuroBasket 2018.

“I am aware of the responsibility this job carries with it, but I would not be here if I do not believe in myself. And what is more important is that I believe in this team. I also want to thank the club for this opportunity,” said Mile Karakaš.

“We have had talks with some other coaches, but eventually we decided that it is the best for Split to give a chance to our young coach. Mile has that coaching gene in him. We believe that he will know how to deal with all the challenges that are in front of us and we have the utmost trust in him,” said Split Director Edo Blažević.
