ABA League Round 22, Saturday, 20 March 2021:
Where? Stožice Sports Hall, Ljubljana
When? 21:00
Story of the game: Cedevita Olimpija and Zadar are about to face each other for the 2nd time in this season, while we all remember how thrilling their previous game was. Recall that Cedevita Olimpija triumphed in Zadar back then by 80:78, while the home team missed a chance to take the big win in the final seconds as Kodi Justice missed the key 3-pointer.
Now the two sides will meet in Ljubljana in the match which is very significant for both teams. Cedevita Olimpija’s winning streak in ABA League ended last weekend when they suffered a defeat against Igokea on the road. Now, the Dragons simply have to get back on the winning track as they are one of the teams which are fighting for the Playoffs. And every win in the rest of the season will mean a lot in that race.
Zadar also want to get back on the winning track as they lost the previous 4 games in the season. Zadar are currently just 1 win in front of 13th placed Borac and they will need to improve their results in the rest of the season in order to stay above that 13th position.
Match-up in focus: Jaka Blažič is a true leader of Cedevita Olimpija in this season and many things in this team depend on Jaka’s performance. Blažič is the team’s top scorer, while he will now confront Zadar’s defensive specialist Justin Carter. Carter is a very experienced player who knows how to stop the best players of the opposing team, while on top of that Carter is the 3rd best scorer of Zadar, which makes him very valuable on both ends of the court.
Head to head in the regional league: In total 2:1; In Ljubljana 1:0.
