ABA League Round 23, Friday, 26 March 2021:

KRKA - SPLIT

Where? Leon Štukelj Hall, Novo mesto

When? 19:00

Story of the game: On Friday night, Krka will be hosting Split in a very important game for both sides, as far as battle to avoid the danger zone near the bottom of the standings, is concerned.

It’s not literally do or die situation for Krka and Split, but it is clear that winning in this game will be of vital importance for the team that achieves the triumph.

Both Krka and Split are currently holding 7 wins in their hands, only 2 more than the 13th placed Borac and in case of a victory, any of the two squads would move away from the danger zone and towards the middle of the ABA League standings.

The team that is defeated, however, will have lots to fight for in the remainder of the regular season.

Speaking of recent shape of the two squads, we find out that both of them have won 2 of their last 5 games, so the outcome would be difficult to predict.

The first time that the two sides have met this season in the ABA League, Krka have celebrated a 2-point win in Split. Can the yellow squad get their revenge or will the outcome be the same? Watch the game and find out!

Match-up in focus: Two Dalmatian combo guards will be in focus this time, as Krka’s Rok Stipčević meets Split’s Roko Leni Ukić. Both of them are second-leading scorers of their respective squads (with Stipčević scoring 11.1 points per game and Ukić 14.3), while Ukić is also the top passer of Split (4.7 assists per game) and Stipčević is the second-leading passer of Krka (2.4). Who will shine brighter this time around?

Head to head in the regional league: In total 7:4; In Novo mesto 3:2.
