Olympic Qualifiers: Slovenia qualified for Tokyo 2020

In the Final of the Kaunas Olympic Qualifying Tournament, Slovenia have prevailed over Lithuania and booked their Olympics ticket. On the other side, Serbia have been defeated in the Final of the Belgrade Olympic Qualifying Tournament and will not take part at the Olympic Games.

Slovenia have qualified for the Olympic Games, after having beaten the hosts of the Kaunas Qualifying Tournament in the Final. After Slovenia and Lithuania departed to the big break with a 52:52 score, the squad led by head coach Aleksander Sekulić took control of the game in the second half and went up by 16 points in the final quarter. In the end, Slovenia celebrated the win with the score of 96:85. For the winning side Luka Dončić led the way in scoring with 31 points, while Vlatko Čančar added 18.

Serbia did not manage to do the same and have been defeated in the Final of the Belgrade Olympic Qualifying Tournament by Italy, after being down throughout the majority of the game, with the final score of 102:95. For Serbia Danilo Anđušić was the most efficient, as he scored 27 points. Filip Petrušev scored 22.
