Slovenia have suffered their first defeat of the Olympic Basketball Tournament, as they have been defeated by France in the Semi-finals. This is also their first ever defeat with Luka Dončić on roster.

The squad, led from the bench by head coach Aleksander Sekulić, have been ahead for the entire first half and have been up by 2 points both at the end of the first and second quarter. However, after the big break, France took control of the game and earned themselves a double-digit lead near the end of the third quarter (69:59).

They have managed to protect their advantage after a dramatic ending until the end of the game, when they have celebrated a 90:89 win. Klemen Prepelič had a chance to win the game for Slovenia in the final second, but his lay-up attempt was blocked by Nicolas Batum and France reached the Final.

For Slovenia, Mike Tobey topped the list of scorers with 23 points on his record, while former Cedevita Olimpija player Klemen Prepelič added 17
