Presenting the 2021/22 ABA League teams – Cedevita Olimpija
Failing to reach the Playoffs in the previous season forced Cedevita Olimpija to make many changes in their roster over the summer. Will that be enough to reach a Playoffs spot this season?

Cedevita Olimpija will want to forget the previous ABA League season in which they failed to make the Playoffs. That was certainly a big blow for the club’s huge ambitious and that might be the reason why the Dragons decided to make some big changes in their roster this summer.
Still, before start speaking about the team roster, let’s say that one very important thing did not change in Cedevita Olimpija. Jurica Golemac has remained the first team head coach and he will lead the Ljubljana crew in the 2021/22 ABA League campaign. Golemac helped the team win the domestic championship last season and in the next one he will try to make one step forward and win the regional competition.
In that mission, Golemac will have quite a respectable team as Cedevita Olimpija made some big signings over the summer. The club penned deals with Marcus Keene (Kalev/Cramo), Marko Radovanović (FMP), Melvin Ejim (Budućnost VOLI), Jackie Carmichael (Igokea), Blaž Habot (Hopsi), Jacob Pullen (Mornar), Saša Ciani (Dynamic) and Zach Auguste (Panathinaikos), while they have kept Jaka Blažič, Edo Murić, Žiga Dimec, Luka Rupnik, Alen Hodžić and Luka Ščuka from the last-season roster.
The club parted ways with all foreigners from the previous season, including Kendrick Perry, Mikael Hopkins, Rion Brown, Jarrod Jones and Mangok Mathiang, while the contract was also terminated with Ivan Marinković.
Is this new team better than the one from the previous season? No one knows at this moment, but Cedevita Olimpija's preseason games promise that this team will play some top-class basketball in the upcoming ABA League campaign.
