Preseason: Victories for Zvezda, Partizan and Igokea

Seven ABA League teams played their preseason games this Saturday evening.

Crvena zvezda mts have qualified for the final of Magenta sport cup 2021 as they scored a convincing win vs. Greek giant Panathinaikos Athens – 83:55. The red-and-whites gained the crucial lead during the 3^rd quarter, which they won by 32:8! Nikola Kalinić was the top scorer in the winning team with 13 points, while Nikola Ivanović added 12 points for the Belgrade side.

Partizan NIS will play in the final of the Istanbul Cup 2021 as they defeated French side AS Monaco in triple overtime – 120:114. Partizan NIS summer signing Alen Smailagić marked this spectacular game as he scored 32 points to lead the black-and-whites toward the win.

Igokea have won the tournament in Szombathely after defeating their ABA League rivals FMP in the final – 56:54. Antabia Waller was the top scorer in Igokea with 12 points, while on the other side Bryce Jones, Ebuka Izundu and Ranko Simović made 11 points each for FMP.

The friendly match between two big local rivals Mornar and Budućnost VOLI ended up in a draw – 83:83. The two sides decided not to play overtime. Mornar’s summer signing Vladimir Mihailović shined once again as he scored 21 points for the Bar troops, while on the other side Budućnost VOLI newcomer D.J. Seeley made 19 points for the blue-and-whites.

Mega Basket were defeated in a friendly game against Russian team Avtodor Saratov – 73:75, despite another excellent performance by their young center Karlo Matković who finished the match with 15 points.
