Presenting the 2021/22 ABA League teams – Zadar

With just couple of changes in the team, Zadar will try to pick up where they left off in the previous season.

Zadar can say that the previous season was a success. They firstly managed to keep their ABA League status for the 2021/22 campaign, while after that they won the national championship. Still, this club always aims for bigger goals and that is why they will want to play a more important role in the upcoming ABA League campaign.

Zadar haven’t changed a lot this summer when their roster is concerned, but they did make a coach change. The club parted ways with coach Veljko Mršić and appointed Ivan Perinčić to lead the team in the following season. Perinčić was Mršić’s assistant and he acted as the team head coach for several times over the past year, so he knows the team very well. And that might be very important for Zadar.

Perinčić will have more or less the same team from the last season as Zadar have managed to keep all the key players, including Dominik Mavra, Justin Carter, Domagoj Vuković and the others.

The club has made just 3 signings over the summer, but all 3 players that have arrived should be significant reinforcements for the team. Dario Drežnjak (Široki) was one of the best players of  ABA 2 last season, Uroš Luković (Mornar) has a huge ABA 1 experience, while Kevon Harris (Raptors 905) should bring lots of points with him.

Zadar stayed without 5 players from the last-season squad, including Jure Planinić, Jan Palokaj, Filip Vujičić, Kodi Justice and Filip Kraljević.

The white-and-blues will try to make a step forward  in the 2021/22 campaign and now when 6 teams are advancing to the Playoffs, maybe Zadar might actually enter the race for some of the top 6 positions in the regular season.
