Story of the game: A very special game will be played on Sunday evening as Borac are about to host Cedevita Olimpija in their first home game of the season.
This game is special because everyone knows how much people from Čačak love basketball. Last season, when Borac finally managed to qualify for AdmiralBet ABA League, the games were played behind the closed doors due to pandemic, but now the fans are allowed to return to the stands and have no doubt that they will come in large numbers in Borac Sports Hall on Sunday evening.
Borac started the new AdmiralBet ABA League season with a narrow defeat vs. Igokea in Laktaši, but the boys coached by Marko Marinović showed in that match that they can play some very good basketball. That is why everyone in the city is now hoping that Borac might convert their good play into the team’s first win in the new season.
On the other side, Cedevita Olimpija started their 2021/22 AdmiralBet ABA League campaign in a pretty powerful way as they scored a convincing win against their local rivals Krka. The Dragons have high ambitions for the ongoing season and that is why every game is very important to them, so have no doubt that they are coming to Čačak fired up to stay on the winning path.
Match-up in focus: Borac new point guard Lautaro Lopez showed in his first match that he should be a big reinforcement for the red-and-white troops. He was one assist away from completing a double-double achievement in the match vs. Igokea and it is already obvious that Borac’s gameplay will depend a lot on his performance. On the other side, Cedevita Olimpija’s summer signing Marcus Keene had a dream ABA League debut as he was the top scorer of his team in the win vs. Krka last week. Keen is a top-class scorer and when he is on fire then everything is much easier for the Ljubljana crew.
