AdmiralBet ABA League Round 7, Sunday, 7 November 2021:

ZADAR - CRVENA ZVEZDA MTS

Where? Krešimir Ćosić Sports Hall, Zadar

When? 18:45

Story of the game: The rivalry between these two teams goes way back in the past. And now, they meet again. Zadar are about to host Crvena zvezda mts on Sunday evening in Round 7 of the 2021/22 AdmiralBet ABA League regular season.

Zadar haven’t really had the best start of the season as they have won just 1 out of the previous 6 games so far in the championship. The white-and-blues have already made a coach change as they parted ways with Ivan Perinčić and hired former Krka boss Vladimir Anzulović to lead the team in the rest of the season. And since that change, Zadar have won 1 game and lost 1 game in the regional league, which clearly suggest that the boys have improved their form lately. Now, the only question is – have they improved their game enough to stun the reigning champions?

Crvena zvezda mts have won 5 out of 6 games so far and they can be very satisfied with the way they've been playing in the ongoing season. What is also important to mention about the red-and-whites is that they scored a big win against Panathinaikos Athens last week in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, when they managed to leave their opponents on less than 50 points. That powerful performance has most certainly boosted the team confidence and Zvezda's troops will try to use the good momentum to grab another important win in the regional league.

Match-up in focus: Justin Carter has been the best player of Zadar so far in the ongoing season, while he is also among the top 10 players in the entire league when it comes to index rating. Carter is averaging 16.5 index points per game, he is also the top scorer of Zadar, so it will be interesting to see how much he can do in the direct clash against the best defender of the previous season – Crvena zvezda mts captain Branko Lazić. That Carter-Lazić duel will certainly decide many things in the upcoming match.

Head-to-head score in the regional league: In total 12:24; In Zadar 9:9.
