World Cup Qualifiers: BiH stronger than Czech Republic

In the first round of the 2023 World Cup Qualifiers, BiH have prevailed over Czech Republic at home in Sarajevo, while Montenegro and North Macedonia have been defeated by France and Spain, respectively.

Bosnia and Herzegovina have managed to come up with a major comeback in their home game against the Czech Republic. After they have been down by 12 points already by halftime, they have turned the flow of the game completely upside-down in the third quarter and went ahead by 8 points before the final period, when they simply managed to protect their advantage and celebrate the win with the final score of 97:90. Former Cedevita player Džanan Musa led the way in scoring for the BiH with 21 points, while Cibona player Amar Gegić added 20.

On the road in Pau in France, Montenegro have put on a brave performance, trying to beat France, but in the final minutes of the game, they simply lacked a bit of luck and they will be returning home empty-handed, as France prevailed 73:67 after a thriller late in the game. For Montenegro, Mornar-Barsko zlato player Vladimir Mihailović had 23 points, while Budućnost VOLI point guard Justin Cobbs added 16.

In Jane Sandanski Sports Hall, North Macedonia have been hosting Spain and left the court with a blowout defeat after an entire game of one-way traffic with the score of 94:65 For Macedonian side, Teodor Simić led the way in scoring with 18 points on his record, while Budućnost VOLI player Jacob Wiley added 10 points.
