#ABAFutureStars: U19 Cedevita Olimpija seize the last remaining ticket for the final tournament

U19 Mega Mozzart, U19 Cedevita Olimpija, U19 SC Derby and U19 Igokea will play at the final tournament of the 2021/22 U19 ABA League Championship.

U19 Mega Mozzart (A1) will face U19 Igokea (B2) in the semi-finals, while SC Derby (B1) will play against U19 Cedevita Olimpija (A2) in the semis.

The time and the place of the final tournament are yet to be determined.

U19 ABA League Championship 2021/22, Regular Season, Sunday, 28.11.2021: 

Group A:

In the first game of the day in Topolica Sports Hall in Bar, U19 Borac have prevailed over U19 Cibona and have therefore achieved their third triumph of the U19 ABA League Championship season.

The Čačak squad have been in command for the majority of the game, yet they had to give their best performance in the court in the end, to beat their Zagreb rivals. The red squad led by 7 points after the opening quarter, by 13 at the big break and by 14 after 30 minutes. However, in the final period of the clash, U19 Cibona fought their way back into the game and as the teams entered the final minute, they managed to cut the gap between the two sides to only 4 points (81:85). They did not manage to come up with a major comeback, though and the final score in the end was 81:88.

Luka Andrić shined as he led his U19 Borac to the win with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals, and a valuation of 30. For U19 Cibona, Marko Vučić stood out, as he had a double double (18 points and 10 rebounds), 8 assists, 4 steals, and a valuation of 28.

U19 Mega Mozzart will be leaving the venue of the 2021/22 U19 ABA League Championship Regular Season Group A undefeated, as they have prevailed over all of their opponents, with U19 Spars of Sarajevo being the last on their way.

U19 Spars demonstrated a brave performance and even held the lead at the beginning of the game, while U19 Mega Mozzart got in front by the end of the first quarter, leading 29:27. In the remainder of the match, they kept increasing their advantage and led by 11 points at the big break and by 16, heading into the last quarter. In the final period, U19 Spars attempted with one last push to turn the game completely upside-down and cut the gap to single digits, but it was not enough for the win in the end, when the score was 110:94 in favour of U19 Mega Mozzart.

Andrija Grbović shined brightly for U19 Mega Mozzart this time, achieving 24 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and a valuation of 39, as he led the way for his team towards the win, with Nikola Đurišić adding 33 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and block each and a valuation of 33. For U19 Spars, it’s worth mentioning the performance of Zinedin Mulić, who achieved 34 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals, and a valuation of 26.

U19 Cedevita Olimpija have qualified for the final tournament of the 2021/22 U19 ABA League Championship as they defeated U19 Mornar-Barsko zlato in the last round of the group stage and therefore seized the 2nd place in Group A.

U19 Cedevita Olimpija were simply a lot better than U19 Mornar-Barsko zlato in this game. The Ljubljana squad were so dominant down on the court that they let their opponents score just 9 points in the 1st half!

By finishing the regular season at the 2nd place in Group A, U19 Cedevita Olimpija will face top-placed team from Group B U19 SCDerby in the semi-finals of the final tournament.

 

Group B:

U19 IGOKEA - U19 Partizan NIS 20:0

In their last game of the 2021/22 U19 ABA League Championship season, U19 Zadar have prevailed over U19 Krka and finished their Regular Season Group B tournament in third place with 3 wins on their record. On the other side, U19 Krka finished the tournament with a single victory and will be placed between 4th and 6th place, depending on the result of the last game, between U19 SC Derby and U19 Split.

It has been a game, that could have really gone either way as the two teams were separated by only a couple of points still, midway through the final period. In the final minutes of the game, though, the Dalmatians stepped up and got away with a comfortable win with the final score of 77:65.

Krševan Klarica and Antonio Sikirić have been the heroes of U19 Zadar, as the first one has had 22 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, just as many steals and a valuation of 27 on his record and the second one 19 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 1 block and a valuation of 25. Anže Bobnar shined on the other side with 19 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and a valuation of 24.

U19 SC Derby will be leaving the venue of the 2021/22 U19 ABA League Championship Regular Season Group B undefeated, as they have prevailed over all of their opponents, with U19 Split the last one.

There hasn’t really been much dilemma regarding the outcome of the game, since its very beginning, as U19 SC Derby have pulled away to the 13-point lead already in the first quarter (20:7) and then controlled the flow of the game calmly until the very end, when the score was 91:50.

Vasilije Todorović had a great performance for U19 SC Derby, as he had 21 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks and a valuation of 32.
