Story of the game: Cedevita Olimpija and SC Derby scored some big wins last weekend in AdmiralBet ABA League, while they both now want to stay on the winning path. However, only one of them will manage to do so this Saturday evening.
Cedevita Olimpija will host SC Derby in Round 12 of the regular season and we all expect a very interesting match in Ljubljana. The home team scored a road win against Partizan NIS last weekend and that game showed that this Cedevita Olimpija team can indeed make something big in the ongoing season. The Dragons still lack consistency as they haven’t been able so far to score couple of big wins in a row. But, now they have another chance to start a winning run and they really need one to catch up with the top-placed teams in the league.
On the other side, SC Derby defeated last-year semifinalists Igkea m:tel in the previous round and that big victory has put the league newcomers very close to the Playoffs zone. Obviously, the Podgorica team do not want to stop now and they will do everything to try to stun their next opponent. Still, many things in the upcoming game will depend on SC Derby’s injury list as several players of the Podgorica side missed the last-round match, including their top scorer Kyle Vinales. We are still about to see whether Vinales will be ready for the game in Ljubljana.
Match-up in focus: Zach Auguste is the 4th best scorer and the top rebounder of Cedevita Olimpija in the ongoing season and therefore he is very, very important part of the Dragons team. Auguste will now confront one of the best young centers in the league – SC Derby’s star player Kenan Kamenjaš who is the 2nd best scorer and the best rebounder of his team.
It is interesting to mention that Kamenjaš is the top rebounder of the entire season so far in AdmiralBet ABA League, while Auguste is the 2nd best on that list at this moment.
