It is a player that will for sure be remembered by the basketball fans from former Yugoslavia as a center, that used to shine the brightest in the most important games as a player from the shadow and has had his contribution to the most glorious moments of Split’s Jugoplastika.

Goran Sobin was a member of the 1988/89 and 1989/90 generations of the Dalmatian squad, that became the European club champions twice in a row.

In Split, he shared the European glory with his teammates at Jugoplastika squad - Toni Kukoč, Dino Rađa, Duško Ivanović, Velimir Perasović, Zoran Sretenović, Žan Tabak, Luka Pavićević, Teo Čizmić, Ivica Burić, Paško Tomić and Petar Vučica. A legendary lineup, led by head coach Božidar Maljković.

After winning two European club trophies he decided on moving abroad and signed for Aris of Thessaloniki in 1990. Afterwards he moved to Zagreb, Alkar and Taugres, after which he end his stellar basketball career.

His son, Josip Sobin is himself also a professional basketball player and used to play in the AdmiralBet ABA League for both Split and Zadar.
