EL: Crvena zvezda mts suffer narrow defeat against Anadolu Efes

Crvena zvezda mts were so close to stun the reigning European champions on the road, but at the end Zvezda’s former point guard and current Anadolu Efes star player Vasilije Micić scored two decisive free throws in the last second to bring a huge win to the Turkish giant.

Crvena zvezda mts were defeated by Anadolu Efes in Round 17 of the 2021/22 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regular season - 84:83.

The red-and-whites were so close to stun the reigning European champions on the road, but at the end Zvezda’s former point guard and current Anadolu Efes star player Vasilije Micić scored two decisive free throws in the last second to bring a huge win to the Turkish giant.

Crvena zvezda mts have played one of their best games in the 2021/22 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague campaign, but they lacked just a bit more concentration to grab their biggest win of the season. The Belgrade team have been in front throughout most of the game and they were up by 1 point – 83:82 and had two free throws in increase their lead, with just 10 seconds remaining on the game clock.

However, Zvezda’s best player from tonight’s game Nikola Kalinić missed both free throws, while on the other side of the court Vasilije Micić was fouled, with less than 1 second remaining in the game. Micić remained calm as he made both of his free throws to put Anadolu Efes in front and win the game for his team – 84:83.

Crvena zvezda mts now have the overall score of 7-10 in the 2021/22 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season.
