World Cup Qualifiers: Serbia victorious

On Friday night, Serbia has celebrated a win over Slovakia in the World Cup Qualifiers, while Croatia and Slovenia suffered losses against Sweden and Finland, respectively.

At home in Aleksandar Nikolić Hall in Belgrade, Serbia have faced Slovakia and come up with a win. They have been a better of the two opponents throughout the game and in the end celebrated a convincing victory, with the final score of 75:63. For Serbia, Partizan NIS player Aleksa Avramović led the way in scoring with 14 points on his record, as he has been followed by Marko Jagodić Kuridža of Budućnost VOLI, who had 13.

Croatia have been defeated at home in Dražen Petrović Arena in Zagreb by Sweden, after the visiting side had a great third quarter, converting the tie at halftime into a 7-point lead. In the final quarter, the Croatian squad have managed to cut their deficit, but have fallen short of a comeback. Sweden prevailed with the final score of 70:64 in the end. For Croatia, Tomislav Zubčić was atop of the list of scorers with 20 points.

Slovenia have suffered a road defeat in Espoo against Finland with the final score of 86:76 in a clash, that seemed to could have gone either way all until the start of the final quarter, when the hosts pulled away and created themselves a comfortable lead, which was enough for their win in the end. For Slovenia, two Cedevita Olimpija players headed the list of scorers, with Zoran Dragić scoring 25 pointds and Jaka Blažič 16.
