Crvena zvezda mts have clinched their 3rd win in a row in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague after beating no other than Real Madrid in Belgrade.
The red-and-white fans could not have wished for a better reaction of their team after losing the big Belgrade derby against Partizan NIS last weekend. Crvena zvezda mts played a fantastic game this Tuesday evening and they managed to defeat one of the best European teams Real Madrid.
The Belgrade troops showed today why their defense is considered as one of the best in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. The boys coached by Dejan Radonjić let Real Madrid score just 62 points for the entire game.
In a thrilling ending, it was that defense that won the game for the home side. Nikola Ivanović scored two key free throws 12 seconds before the end to put his team in front by three – 65:62, while in the very last play of the game Crvena zvezda mts defense stopped Real Madrid star player Sergio Llull from scoring any points. Zvezda protected their basket in the dying seconds of the 4th quarter and grabbed a big, big win.
