Game recap: Mega Mozzart have defeated Zadar on the road in Round 25 of the 2021/22 AdmiralBet ABA League regular season.
In just couple of days, Mega Mozzart have played their second thrilling game in Dalmatia and this time they managed to grab the win. The Pink troops prevailed over Zadar in a highly exciting finish in which Mega Mozzart’s point guard Dayshon Scoochie Smith made the key 2-pointer just 15 seconds before the end.
Mega Mozzart have therefore ended their 6-game losing run in the regional league, while with the current overall score of 9-15 they have definitely escaped the relegation zone and confirmed their AdmiralBet ABA League status for the next season.
On the other side, Zadar dropped to 7-16 and they still have just 1 win more than 13th place Split who are at 6-18. And next Friday evening, Zadar will face Split on the road.
Key moments: The winner of this game was decided in the final 30 seconds. Mega Mozzart were up by 2 points – 80:78 and they had a ball in their hands. And, like so many times in the past two seasons, Mega Mozzart’s starting point guard Dayshon Scoochie Smith showed off his clutch skills. Smith made the key 2-pointer to increase the lead of his team to 82:78, with just 15 seconds remaining on the game clock.
In the remaining time, Mega Mozzart scored 3 out of 4 free throws to stay in front and win the match.
Man of the match: Luka Cerovina has played probably his best game of the season. He scored 17 points, while he also made 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the overall index rating of 23.
Can’t trick the stats: Zadar did score 81 points this evening, but they had just 11 assists for the entire match. On the other side, Mega Mozzart made 18 assists today.
