AdmiralBet ABA League Round 14, Friday, 8 April 2022:
FMP MERIDIAN – BUDUĆNOST VOLI
Where? FMP Arena, Belgrade
Story of the game: In the previously postponed game of the AdmiralBet ABA League Round 14, FMP Meridian will be hosting Budućnost VOLI at home in their FMP Arena in Belgrade. It’s a clash of two teams that have already secured themselves a spot in the 2021/22 AdmiralBet ABA League Playoffs, but that does not by any means mean that it is unimportant to any of them.
The reason is of course that both FMP Meridian and Budućnost VOLI are battling to grab the best possible position ahead of the peak of the 2021/22 season, which could bring them more favourable schedule in the final battles of the season.
Currently, Budućnost VOLI is on a 16:6 record, holding the third position, while FMP Meridian are on a 14:9 record in the sixth place. A victory would be invaluable for both squads right now.
And both of them seem to be entering the clash in a good shape, as they have been victorious lately, with FMP having won 4 games in a row and Budućnost VOLI 2.
Who will prevail this time? Tune in on Friday night and find out.
Match-up in focus: It’s Bryce Jones against Justin Cobbs! The two fantastic point guards, arguably amongst the best in the AdmiralBet ABA League, will battle head to head in Belgrade and try to take their teams to the win. While both of them are currently the top passers of their respective squads (with Jones averaging 6.6 assists per game and Cobbs 4.5), Jones is also the top scorer for FMP Meridian and Cobbs comes second for Budućnost VOLI (Jones averaging 15.3 points per game and Cobbs 13), which proves the value of both of them for their respective squads.
Head to head in the regional league: in total 8:14; In Belgrade 5:6.
