2021/22 Coach of the Season: Željko Obradović (Partizan NIS)

In the traditional voting by the AdmiralBet ABA League head coaches, journalists and basketball fans, Partizan NIS head coach Željko Obradović has been selected the Coach of the 2021/22 AdmiralBet ABA League season.

Željko Obradović, Partizan NIS head coach, that has taken over the Belgrade squad ahead of the 2021/22 season, has been selected the best coach of the 2021/22 season in the traditional AdmiralBet ABA League voting by the head coaches of AdmiralBet ABA League teams, basketball journalists and the basketball fans.

The experienced tactician has convincingly taken the first place in the voting, winning the total of 41.5% of combined votes. He has been followed by Crvena zvezda mts head coach Dejan Radonjić, who has taken the second place, with a total of 19.5% combined votes, while FMP Meridian’s Nenad Stefanović has received 11.9% of the combined votes.

It is worth mentioning, that Obradović has taken the first place by all three categories of voters – the head coaches, journalist and the fans as well.
Željko Obradović has had a remarkable season on the bench of Partizan NIS, as he has led the Belgrade squad to the AdmiralBet ABA League Semi-finals directly from the Regular season, by taking the second place after 26 rounds. Partizan NIS have finished the season with a record of 22:4.

In the traditional AdmiralBet ABA League voting for the Ideal Starting Five of the AdmiralBet ABA League season and the individual honours, the final results of the voting will combine the votes of the head coaches of ABA League teams (50% of the total voting results), the votes of basketball journalists from the ABA League countries (30% of the total voting results) and the votes of fans (20% of the total voting results).
