BCL: Igokea m:tel to start competition from very strong Group D, tough draw for FMP Meridian

The draw for the 2022/23 season of the Basketball Champions League was held this Thursday in Mies, Switzerland and two AdmiralBet ABA League clubs were following the event closely to find out the names of their opponents.

The draw for the 2022/23 season of the Basketball Champions League was held this Thursday in Mies, Switzerland and two AdmiralBet ABA League clubs were following the event closely to find out the names of their opponents.

Igokea m:tel have already qualified for the 2022/23 Basketball Champions League Regular season, while the boys from Laktaši were drawn into a very strong Group D together with ERA Nymburk, Surne Bilbao and Bahcesehir College.

Group winners will move straight to the Round of 16, while second and third-placed teams are advancing to the Play-In Series.

Meanwhile, FMP Meridian will start the competition from the Quarter-Finals of the Qualification Rounds and the Panthers will need to beat three rivals in order the reach the group stage.

FMP Meridian will firstly play against Rio Breogan, while if they manage to eliminate the Spanish team then they will face Czech side Opava in the semi-final stage of the Qualification Rounds.

If FMP Meridian beat both Reo Breogan and Opava, then they will play against the winner of the clash between Bakken Bears (DEN) vs. Swans Gmunden/Parnu Sadam in the final stage of the Qualification Rounds

The four Qualification Rounds tournaments will tip off on September 21, officially starting the new BCL season.
