2023 WC Qualifiers: Montenegro grab a big win as they down Bosnia and Herzegovina

Montenegro have made a huge step toward securing their ticket for the 2023 FIBA World Cup as they defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina in Podgorica in the opening round of the last stage of the qualifiers.

Montenegro have made a huge step toward securing their ticket for the 2023 FIBA World Cup as they defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina in Podgorica in the opening round of the last stage of the qualifiers.

Montenegro have gained a 15-point lead already by halftime, while in the rest of the match the home side had no problems staying in front.

Mornar-Barsko zlato star player Vladimir Mihailović was the top scorer in the winning team with 20 points, while last year’s Budućnost VOLI tandem of guards Petar Popović and Kendrick Perry scored 15 points each for Montenegro.

On the other side, John Roberson made 20 points for Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Džanan Musa finished the match with 19 points.

2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, Group K, Wednesday, 24 August 2022:

MONTENEGRO – Bosnia and Herzegovina 88:69 (18:15, 23:11, 25:20, 22:23)
Mihailović 20, Popović 15, Perry 15 | Roberson 20, Musa 19.

Group K: Lithuania 6-1, Montenegro 5-2, France 5-1, Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-4, Hungary 3-4, Czech Republic 3-3.

*Top 3 teams from each group will advance to 2023 FIBA World Cup
