EuroBasket 2022: Victories for Montenegro and Slovenia

In their Wednesday’s EuroBasket 2022 games, Montenegro and Slovenia have written down new victories, by prevailing over Georgia and France, respectively. On the other side, Bosnia and Herzegovina have been defeated by Lithuania.

In Group A, Montenegro have faced Georgia and grabbed a win after a game, where they have been up throughout the playing time. In the end, Montenegro have prevailed with the final score of 81:73. With this win, Montenegro have secured themselves a spot in the Round of 16. For the winning side, Igor Drobnjak has topped the list of scorers, as he scored 22 points, while Kendrick Perry had 17 on his record.

Slovenia faced France in the derby of the Round 5 in the Group B, looking for a win that would secure themselves the first place in the standings after the end of the Group Stage. It has really been anybody’s game and the two sides have entered the final period of the game with a tied score of 64:64. In the game finish, the reigning European champions have got in front and eventually celebrated an 88:82 win. For Slovenia, Luka Dončić was on top of the list of scorers once more, as he scored 47 points, which is the second-best all-time achievement in the EuroBasket history for a single game, while Goran Dragić came second with 14 points on his record.

Bosnia and Herzegovina have faced Lithuania in what has been a decisive game for a spot in the Round of 16 and unfortunately did not manage to come up with yet another upset, which would keep them above Lithuania in the standings. The Lithuanian side have been a better of the two opponents throughout the game and eventually prevailed 87:70. For BiH, Džanan Musa had 22 points and Jusuf Nurkić added 15.
