Three AdmiralBet ABA League teams were victorious in their prep games this Friday evening.
Crvena zvezda mts scored their 2nd win in the ongoing preseason as they defeated Romanian team CS Universitatea Cluj-Napoca by 92:64. The man of the match was Zvezda’s summer signing John Holland who made an impressive performance tonight as he made 27 points.
Mega MIS have won the 1st place at the Stevan Jelovac Memorial Tournament as they prevailed over FMP Meridian in the Final by 83:62. Matej Rudan was the top scorer in the winning team with 18 points, Danko Branković scored 13 points, while young Nikola Đurišić added 10 points for Mega MIS. On the other side, Ebuka Izundu and Nikola Janković scored 10 points each for FMP Meridian and they were the only two players to reach double digits in the Panthers team.
Meanwhile, SC Derby claimed the 3rd place at the Stevan Jelovac Memorial Tournament after beating Team Overtime by 78:70. Fletcher Magee showed off his scoring skills as he finished the game with 27 points.
Zadar and Mornar Barsko zlato suffered their first defeats in the 2022/23 preseason.
Zadar were defeated by NLB ABA League 2 side GGD Šenčur by 87:78, despite excellent performances of Dario Drežnjak and Luka Božić who scored 18 points each.
At the same time, Mornar-Barsko zlato suffered defeat in the clash against Italian side Brindisi – 96:83. Daron Russell scored 22 points for the Bar troops, Nemanja Vranješ made 20, while Marko Pecarski finished the match with 19 points.
One more AdmiralBet ABA League team played a prep game tonight. Partizan NIS faced their old friends Fuenlabrada and the Spanish side prevailed by 98:84. Kevin Punter was the top scorer in the black-and-white team with 19 points.
