PRESEASON: Budućnost VOLI advance to the Final of "Ljubo Jovanović" Memorial Tournament
Budućnost VOLI defeated Sutjeska in double overtime to qualify for the Final of "Ljubo Jovanović" Memorial Tournament. Their opponent in the Final will be NLB ABA League 2 side Podgorica who defeated Mornar-Barsko zlato in the other semi-final game.

Budućnost VOLI defeated Sutjeska in double overtime to qualify for the Final of "Ljubo Jovanović" Memorial Tournament. Their opponent in the Final will be NLB ABA League 2 side Podgorica who defeated Mornar-Barsko zlato in the other semi-final game.
Budućnost VOLI had big troubles to prevail over their local rivals Sutjeska as NLB ABA League 2 team made an impressive performance this evening in the match against a much stronger opponent. Sutjeska have had the lead for 39 minutes in the regular time, but in the dramatic last minute Budućnost VOLI managed to take over the lead after their summer signing Phil Booth completed an AND-1 play to put the Podgorica side in front – 76:74. Still, in the very last second of the 4th quarter, Bojan Tomašević made a 2-pointer for Sutjeska to tie the score and take this game into overtime.
The big battle continued in the first extra period in which Phil Booth had a chance to win the game for Budućnost VOLI, but he missed a shot at the buzzer, so the score remained tied at 84:84 and the game went into second overtime.
The key moment of the second overtime was the 3-pointer made by Igor Drobnjak which gave a 6-point lead to Budućnost VOLI – 94:88 –and the AdmiralBet ABA League powerhouse has managed to stay in front until the end – 99:90.
In the other semi-final game, NLB ABA League 2 side Podgorica stunned Mornar-Barsko zlato – 81:80.
Mornar-Barsko zlato have been in front during most of the match, however Podgorica managed to take over the lead at the start of the 4th quarter and to keep it until the end. In the final moments of the game, Mornar-Barsko zlato top scorer in tonight’s game Daron Russell had a chance to win the game for his team, but he missed a 2-pointer.
Budućnost VOLI and Podgorica will play against each other in the Final of "Ljubo Jovanović" Memorial Tournament on Tuesday evening with the game scheduled to start at 20:30.
