The Čačak troops finished the previous campaign at the 11th place, while in the following one they will try to make a step forward and perhaps fight for one of the Playoffs spots as in the 2022/23 season 8 teams will advance to the final stage.
Club legend Marko Marinović will continue his mission as Borac Mozzart head coach. Recall that Marinović became the head coach of his childhood club back in 2019 and has managed to take the Čačak team to the top tier of the regional basketball.
Marinović will also have plenty of familiar faces to work with in the following season as most of the last year’s roster remained, including some team leaders like Ognjen Čarapić, Radovan Đoković, Nemanja Todorović and Aleksa Novaković.
The biggest changes that Borac Mozzart have made over the past summer were the point guards. Instead of Ilija Đoković and Lautaro Lopez who left the club, the red-and-whites brought in Marko Radonjić from FMP Meridian and Nikola Kočović from Mega MIS. What is interesting to mention is that both Radonjić and Kočović have already played in Čačak earlier in their careers.
Radonjić played for Borac Mozzart from 2015 to 2017, while Kočović, who was born in Čačak, was part of the red-and-white troops from 2018 to 2021.
The red-and-whites have also found a replacement for Marko Pecarski who moved to Mornar-Barsko zlato as they signed a contract with former Dynamic player Miloš Glišić.
Borac Mozzart have created a good and competitive team over the past few years and they’ve been improving their results year by year since joining the AdmiralBet ABA League. In their first ever season in the top tier they had 8 wins, last season they had 9… So the main question is – can the Čačak squad reach 10+ wins in the following campaign and join the race for the Playoffs?
