Budućnost VOLI are in front of a new era, with new head coach on the bench and with plenty of new players.

After failing to reach the AdmiralBet ABA League Finals for the 1st time since 2017, Budućnost VOLI have made some big changes over the summer and they have created a very exciting team which is full of talent and which is definitely capable of achieving some great things in the future.

The first big change that the Podgorica side have made was to replace head coach Aleksandar Džikić with former Mega MIS head coach Vladimir Jovanović. Jovanović is well-known for his excellent work with young players and his experience will definitely be of great value to this new blue-and-white team.

Then, Budućnost VOLI started with forming the roster for the 2022/23 season and they have penned deals with no less than 8 new players. So let’s start introducing them…

The blue-and-whites signed contract with one of the most talented centers in the region Kenan Kamenjaš who had a fantastic last season with SC Derby in which he was selected into AdmiralBet ABA League Ideal Starting Five. Kamenjaš will form the new center’s tandem of Budućnost VOLI together with another newcomer Alpha Kaba who spent the last season in Gazientep. Recall that Kaba has already played in AdmiralBet ABA League as he was a member of Mega MIS from 2015 to 2017.

Budućnost VOLI then signed forward Aleksandar Lazić who had a very good season in Mornar-Barsko zlato last year, while they also brought back one of the fans’ favorites Aleksa Ilić who spent the previous season in SC Derby. Ilić has played for Budućnost VOLI from 2015 to 2021 and he was part of the team that won the regional crown back in 2018.

The other 4 newcomers in the team are former Río Breogán player Trae Bell-Haynes and former Oostende member Phil Booth who will form the team’s new point-guard tandem, then Cameron Raynolds who came from Italian side Dolomiti Energia Trent to strengthen the small forward position, while the last team signing this summer (so far) was power forward Aaron White who won the AdmiralBet ABA League championship last season with Crvena zvezda mts.

These 8 newcomers will join the 5 players that stayed in the team from the past season, including Suad Šehović, Petar Popović, Edin Atić, Marko Jagodić Kuridža and Igor Drobnjak.

Together, they will try to repeat the success from the 2017/18 season and bring the 2nd regional trophy to the club’s cupboard.
