A whole new Wolves pack is getting ready for the 2022/23 season. How far they can go? It is very hard to tell at this moment.
Cibona have made a lot of changes over the summer. Starting with head coach as Josip Sesar replaced Gašper Okorn at that position.
And, Sesar will have just two players from the last-season roster to work with. Krešimir Radovčić and Ivan Majcunić remained with the Wolves, while all the other players in the current roster are the newcomers. Borna Kapusta (Gorica), Krešimir Ljubičić (Saint-Quentin), Lovro Mazalin (Poitiers), Blaž Mesiček (Kolossos Rodou), Ivan Perasović (Split) and Sven Smajlagić (Nevėžis) have so far joined the team, while it is expected that the club will announce several more names in near future.
The important thing is that all the newcomers have already played in this region, so they should not need much time to fit in.
Cibona finished the last season at the 8th place with the overall score of 11-15. If they can once again reach that score they might make it to the Playoffs for the 1st time since 2014 as in the following season 8 top-placed teams will qualify for the Playoffs.
And this basketball giant simply needs a spark like that to restart its engines and once again begin their climb toward the top of the region.
