The Belgrade giants did not start the new Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season the way they planned as both of them suffered defeats in the opening round.
Crvena zvezda mts were defeated by reigning European champions Anadolu Efes on the road, despite a very good performance in the first three quarters. The red-and-whites were down by only 6 points ahead of the 4th quarter – 56:50, however in the final 10 minutes the offensive plays of the Belgrade side simply stopped working. Zvezda scored just 9 points in the 4th quarter, which was far from enough to stun the mighty hosts.
Partizan Mozzart Bet suffered road defeat against Alba Berlin in the match in which the black-and-whites let their rivals score no less than 100 points. The Belgrade team had lot of problems defensively this evening, which was especially obvious in the 1st half in which they conceded 61 points.
