Crvena zvezda mts are still winless in the 2022/23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague campaign as they suffered defeat at home court against Panathinaikos Athens in Round 2 of the regular season.

Zvezda’s reunion with their most successful head coach Dejan Radonjić did not go according to the plan. Radonjić and his current team Panathinaikos Athens triumphed in Belgrade in front of more than 5,000 spectators as they had more concentration in key moments.

Crvena zvezda mts have had the lead during most part of the game, however the home side made a series of mistakes in the final minutes of the 4th quarter and they let their opponents grab this valuable win.

The two moments that decided the winner of tonight’s game happened in the final 60 seconds. At the score of 73:73, Nikola Ivanović made a bad pass that let Mateusz Ponitka steal the ball an make an easy lay-up to put the visitors in front – 75:73. In the following play, Crvena zvezda mts had a chance to tie the score and perhaps force an overtime, however their top scorer from this game Ben Bentil made just 1 out of 2 free throws only to reduce the lead of the visiting side - 75:74.

In the rest of the match, Panathinaikos Athens made their free throws to stay in front and seal the win.
