Partizan Mozzart Bet missed a huge chance to score their first win in the new Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season as they were defeated by Baskonia on the road in overtime.
The Belgrade troops had the win in their hands. They were up by 2 points (88:86), with 7 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter, while one of their best free-throw shooters James Nunnally had two free throws to seal the win for the black-and-whites. However, after making the first free throw for 89:86, Nunnally missed the second one and Baskonia received one last chance to take this game into overtime.
The top scorer of the Spanish side from tonight’s game Markus Howard took the ball, ran all the way across the court and pulled up for a 3-pointer… He made the shot right at the buzzer to tie the score – 89:89.
Despite making a 5:0 run early in overtime, Partizan Mozzart Bet just could not finish the job this evening. Baskonia pulled off another comeback to take over the lead in overtime and eventually to score a very valuable win.
