Budućnost VOLI survived overtime drama against Promitheas Patras and scored their 2nd win in a row in the 2022/23 7Days EuroCup regular season.

This game was definitely something you do not see that often, while the events that occurred after the end of the 3rd quarter are very hard to describe.

Budućnost VOLI had the win in their pockets. The home team were up by 17 points ahead of the 4th quarter and at that moment the only question was how big the gap will be at the end of the game. But, then Promitheas Patras pulled off a miraculous comeback in the following 10 minutes.

Not just that the Greek side have managed to melt the lead of Budućnost VOLI, but the visitors were on the verge of clinching the win as they took over the lead with less than 10 seconds remanining on the game clock – 81:79.

Luckily for Budućnost VOLI, their top scorer from tonight’s game Phil Booth saved them from a shocking defeat as he took the ball, went coast-to-coast and made the key lay-up to tie the score – 81:81.

Primitheas Patras had a time-out and 2 seconds to still win this game, but after the inbound pass, Aleksandar Lazić made a stunning block on Michalis Tsairelis to protect the basket of the home team and force overtime.

In the additional 5 minutes, Budućnost VOLI once again regained control over this game as they opened the overtime with 14:1 run to definitely seal their win tonight.
