WC Qualifiers: Slovenia qualified for World Cup, Serbia scored huge win

Slovenia has qualified for the 2023 FIBA World Cup after defeating Germany at home court. Serbia is just a step away to do the same as they scored a huge win against Turkey this Monday evening.

Slovenia will be celebrating this Monday evening as it has qualified for the 2023 FIBA World Cup after defeating Germany at home court – 81:75.

Former Olimpija player Jordan Morgan led Slovenian team toward the win in this match with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Edo Murić, Žiga Samar and Miha Lapornik scored 14 points each.

Serbian national team will also have lots of reasons for celebration this evening as they prevailed over Turkey in dramatic ending in Belgrade – 77:76. Serbia now need to score just one more win in the remaining two rounds of the qualifiers to definitely seal their spot at the next year’s World Cup.

Former Crvena zvezda mts player Marko Gudurić made 18 points for Serbia tonight, while another former red-and-white member Dušan Ristić made 16 points (11 in the 4th quarter).

While Slovenia and Serbia scored big wins, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina suffered defeats in this round.

Montenegro was defeated by Lithuania in Podgorica – 56:65, while Bosnia and Herzegovina suffered heavy defeat against France on the road – 56:92. Still, both Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina still have chances to reach the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
