The ABA League j.t.d. and its clubs team up with the general sponsor of the strongest regional club competition, the AdmiralBet, to raise the awareness of the importance of eliminating the violence against women on 25 November 2022.

Today marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and ABA League j.t.d. and its clubs, sensitive to the most devastating social problems of our days, would like to take advantage of the opportunity to use its influence for drawing the public’s attention to this important matter.

With this goal in mind, throughout the 8th round of the season, players will wear a red mark on their faces, as a sign of support of the international event.
General sponsor AdmiralBet will join the event by supporting one of the organizations (Safe House), whose primary role is the support for women, that have been exposed to violence by donating 1000 Serbian Dinars (approximately 8.5 Euros) for each point achieved in each game of the Round 8 in the strongest regional club competition.

Dubravko Kmetović, ABA League j.t.d. Director: “I am happy to announce that we at the ABA League j.t.d. and all the participating clubs, jointly with our general sponsor, have recognized the opportunity to implement our social-responsible role and to raise awareness in our society for the difficulties, that many women are facing nowadays. We hope that together we can help to create a World without violence and a better tomorrow for all members of our society.”

Marko Ribarić, AdmiralBet CEO: “We are all aware of how great the problem in our society the violence towards women is, and we are happy that AdmiralBet is a part of the joint struggle for the help to the victims of the violence, with which this painful problem of our society is revealed. AdmiralBet is a company that treats the genders equally and has many women in key positions. I believe that it is a joint obligation of all subjects of society to do everything in their power to not just verbally condemn the hostile actions, but also to help the victims with concrete acts, in order to help the most vulnerable categories of our fellow citizens.”

Vesna Stanojević, the Coordinator of the Safe House: “Some time ago, Kofi Annan, the United Nations General Secretary, officially announced 25 November to be the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, exactly because there is plenty of violence against women in the World and we need to be aware of the fact that this is no specific matter for former Yugoslavia or Balkans, but it’s present everywhere and unfortunately, women are subject to many difficulties, including the most brutal ones. We that are working in the Safe House with the women, that are victims of violence, are here to try to help them in any way possible and we wish to thank organizations like AdmiralBet and AdmiralBet ABA League. Big companies demonstrate their greatness by showing a feeling to find themselves amongst people, who desperately need the help.”
