Game recap: What a night for the famous Yellow squad! Split have prevailed over Budućnost VOLI in one of the most thrilling game-endings of the season.

Everything in this match was decided in the final 10 seconds. Split were up by 3 points – 85:82, but Budućnost VOLI had the ball-possession and a chance to tie the score. After the inbound pass, the ball ended up in the hands of Budućnost VOLI latest signing Erick Green who pulled up from the corner and drained the 3-pointer – 85:85.

But, that was just the start of this unbelievable game-ending. Dominik Mavra took the ball, he ran to the other side of the court as fast as he could and made a perfect pass to Lewis Sullivan who made the game-winning lay-up – 87:85.

With just 1.4 seconds remaining on the game clock, Budućnost VOLI tried to make a full-court pass, but the ball went out of bounds and Split seized the win.

Split now have the overall score of 5-9 and they have officially joined the race of the Playoffs, while Budućnost VOLI are now at 9-5.

Key moments: Apart from that game-winning lay-up that he scored in the final moments of the 4th quarter, Lewis Sullivan had one more key play in the last minute. He scored a BIG 2-pointer after making an offensive rebound to give Split a 3-point lead – 83:80, with 40 seconds before the end.

And we have already described what happened afterward. Sullivan canceled Green’s 3-pointer with the key lay-up to win the game for the home team.

Man of the match: Sullivan was the hero of the day for Split, but we will say that Dominik Mavra was the MVP. Mavra made a double-double with 12 points and 14 assists, while his final assist in this game helped Split win the match.

Also, with 14 assists on his record, Mavra tied the 9th best single-game score in AdmiralBet ABA League.

Can’t trick the stats: Split won the battle in the paint as they made 34 rebounds tonight, but what was really impressive is that 15 out of those 34 rebounds were offensive rebounds.
