Facundo Campazzo has been shining in the regional competition ever since he joined the ranks of the red and white. Where is the reason for his great performances? “There’s no real secret. I try hard to play every game as good as possible. I try to work hard every day, so I am ready when the weekend comes. My teammates and head coaches help me a lot with my adaptation, so they make my job a lot easier in every game, every practice, everyday. I just try to work hard to fit into the team as well as possible.”

As he explains, it is a very important fact for him, that he has an opportunity to play together with his fellow Argentinian Luca Vildoza on the same team: “It’s extremely important. Luca was here before me and he made my decision to come here easier. I enjoy playing with all my teammates a lot, but with him we have a special connection, since we have both played together for our national team for years. We are taking advantage of that. We know each other very well. I enjoy playing with him and even watching him play, while I am on the bench. He is playing on a high level and is making everyone on the team look even better.”

And what about the support from the fans? There have been plenty of Argentinian flags seen in the stands at the Crvena zvezda Meridianbet games: “It’s crazy. The love and kindness that the fans are giving me and the whole team. I saw lots of Argentinian flags and I am feeling the support all the time, on social media and in every game. It gives us a lot of motivation to give everything we have in each game. This is the only way we can pay our fans back for their support that they are showing us.”

Facundo is aware of the great level of his team’s game right now and explains that their goals are the highest possible. But there is plenty of work still to be done to get there. “This is our main goal. We want to win all important games, Semi-finals, Finals in every competition. This is our main goal. But to be there in our best version. We need to work hard in the present, be better in each following game. We are right now playing on a great level, but we still have room to improve and we need to get even better. And it’s very important for us to know how to improve. We have great coaching staff and a great team as well. We are one of the main contenders for the top spots, but to get there we need to work hard, since there are plenty of great rivals out there.”

And how about the league? Vildoza has been used of the highest possible level of competition. How does AdmiralBet ABA League rate by his standards? “AdmiralBet ABA League is a very competitive league. It’s very hard to win on the road especially. There are plenty of tough teams, that are playing in the EuroLeague and EuroCup as well, with lots of talented players. There are teams with several great scorers and that are used to fight. There are lots of physical teams that are excellent in defense and I love that. The league is really competitive and you can always improve after every next game. I love playing in this league, I am really enjoying and learning through the process.”
