National Cups: Victories for Budućnost VOLI, Cibona, Partizan Mozzart Bet and Mega MIS

The first AdmiralBet ABA League team to reach their national cup final this year is Budućnost VOLI.

Budućnost VOLI defeated their AdmiralBet ABA League rivals Mornar-Barsko zlato to make it to the 2023 Montenegrin National Cup Final. After a big battle in the 1st half in which Mornar-Barsko zlato had a 1-point lead – 45:44, Budućnost VOLI took over full control over the match in the 2^nd half and eventually scored quite a comfortable win – 100:80.

Budućnost VOLI will face NLb ABA League 2 side Podgorica in the Final which is scheduled for Thursday, February 16.

Meanwhile in the Croatian National Cup, Cibona prevailed over Zadar in a thrilling quarter-final game – 71:70.

Cibona point guard Borna Kapista made 1 out of 2 free throws to put Cibona in front – 71:70, with just 1.5 seconds remaining on the game clock. Zadar called for a time-out to make the plan for the final play in this match, however Dario Drežnjak missed a 2-point shot in the final moments of the match and Cibona advanced to the semi-finals.

In the quarter-finals of the Serbian National Cup, Partizan Mozzart Bet and Mega MIS scored convincing wins to reach the semi-final stage.

Partizan Mozzart Bet easily prevailed over Spartak Office Shoes, while Mega MIS had no problems defeating Vojvodina.
