In the Aleksandar Nikolić Sports Hall in Belgrade, Serbia have come up with a strong second half display to outgun Great Britain, prevail over the visiting side with the final score of 101:83 and secure themselves a ticket to the FIBA World Cup. The hosts started the game well, winning the opening quarter 28:20, but Great Britain managed to make it anybody’s game in the third quarter. Serbia bounced again, however, pulled away in the third quarter already and led by 14 points, as the two squads entered the final period in which they defended their advantage and emerged victorious. For Serbia, Aleksa Avramović led the way in scoring with 20 points on his record, while Luka Mitrović scored 15.

At home in Bonifika Sports Hall, Slovenia have suffered a defeat by Israel, which made a major comeback late in the game with an excellent last quarter performance. Slovenia have been up by 8 points as the two squads have entered the final 10 minutes of the game, but that’s when Israel stepped up and won the last period alone with the score of 32:16, turning the game completely upside-down and prevailing in the end with the score of 87:79. For Slovenia, Mornar-Barsko zlato player Gregor Glas led the way in scoring with 26 points on his record. Aleksej Nikolić followed him with 12.
